AK Festive Fun Run

AK Festive Fun Run
Back this year by popular demand (!) is the Ashton Keynes Festive Fun Run – a joyous dash around the village to imbue us all with festive cheer and justify another mince pie in the run up to Christmas. We will gather outside the pub in time to start at 11am on Sunday 16th December… Festive fancy dress is positively encouraged – anything from a bit of tinsel to an inflatable turkey suit – you won’t be out of place!! A lap is 1.3miles, and many take the opportunity to run round more than once!  But the emphasis is on ‘fun’ more than ‘run’ so please don’t let fitness be a barrier. Sprint, run, walk, jog, hobble, – just get round the village in festive spirit and we will have cakes on offer at the pub’s function room afterwards. We are raising money through donations which we’ll split equally between F0AKS and WelllChild (the national charity for sick children). It is not limited to the school community, so please feel free to spread the word among other friends, relatives, clubs, groups …
If there is anyone who would like to be involved but without actually running, we do need a few volunteers to marshal on the corners of the village, and to take donations… please email me (Caroline Hukins) if you are able to help: chukins@yahoo.com.
Thanks very much, and hope to see lots of you there!
