Author Visit Inspires Team AK

Tracey Corderoy Visit 28th April 2016

Tracey was amazing. The children and staff were enthralled by her story telling and the impact upon the children has been instant, we are so happy! Children across KS1 and Year 3 are now writing their own books! Nano in Class R was keen to show me her book she had started writing and tell me how she was going to be an author like Tracey. Alice in Class 1 got going straight away on her cat story, inspired by Tracey’s stories. Evie-May in Class 2 bounced up to tell me how she had read a whole chapter book of Tracey’s she had bought in one evening and how much she enjoyed it. Instant positive impact and a fabulous buzz about reading in our school, which is fabulous. Children are spontaneously setting up their own book clubs to further promote the love of reading.

Tracey is the third author this year in a special aim to encourage our children to read as much as possible, every class has now experienced at least 2 authors and many have had their books signed.
