TEAM AK live on BBC Wiltshire Breakfast Show

I love this school. Not only is it a joy day to day to see your children behaving beautifully and making strides in their learning, but it is wonderful to provide and embrace wonderful opportunities for our school to shine. Last week, we were chosen to host the BBC Wiltshire Breakfast show as part of their Step into Summer initiative.

I thought the coverage of our school and village community was brilliant. If the people of Wiltshire and beyond had not heard about our wonderful school before, then they will know who we are now. I felt the passion and buzz of our happy and successful school and our links with the community really shone through. It was a miserable rainy day but TEAM AK really shone brightly. Thank you for the lovely comments I have received about the show. I am now getting used to being called ‘Sue’ after the show!

I thought The Paris family were amazing hosts, very generously giving of their home and time and came across beautifully. A special well done to Ettie and Freddie who were up super early and were so tired but still managed to have a brilliant day of learning at school! Ettie received a merit for a superb piece of writing she did on the day even after the early start!

My thanks also go to the community, governors, staff, parents and pupils who were interviewed, well done all. Also, the BBC Wiltshire team, they were all incredible- so enthusiastic, supportive fun and helpful. Ben the presenter was brilliant and so positive about our school, thank you Ben. Also a special thank you to Emma Colman the producer who generously gave of her time to came in to speak to the children about a career in Radio in the future to inspire them which was excellent.
